Hunting Cabin Gets Major Upgrade:
Ivanhoe, NC

It’s Season 3…and the first Renovation Hunters build doesn’t disappoint. Let’s visit Ivanhoe, NC for a hunting cabin upgrade that transforms a cinder block property into a family-friendly hunting getaway.

Renovation Hunters Season 3 is Here!

Minimal Square Feet With Maximal Potential

To start Season 3, we took a trip to Ivanhoe, NC to renovate a property on the Black River.  This small hunting cabin, located in the heart of black bear country, needed some major TLC—renovations that went well beyond the owner’s ability to do off-grid DIY.

The roof was bad.  Termite damage ran rampant.  The front porch was rotted.  There was minimal living space.  And, let’s be honest, cinder block walls aren’t the prettiest.

Sure, this hunting camp served its purpose, but the Sayre family also wanted the property to be a place where the whole family could enjoy a getaway now and then.  The goal was simple: maximize the living space and create a cozy cabin that would be hunting trip- and family-friendly.

Hardwood Products That Pack a Punch

See how Baird Brothers’ products transformed this North Carolina hunting cabin.

Even though the Ivanhoe property was extremely small, it needed a lot of work that went far beyond carpentry 101.  There wasn’t enough livable space for the whole family to enjoy their time in the cabin, let alone want to be there.  That’s where the team at Renovation Hunters stepped in. Major structural issues were addressed, the living room (along with the back deck) were revamped and the tiny house’s look and feel were completely transformed.

Baird Brothers led the charge with numerous hardwood essentials: shiplap paneling to hide the ugly cinder block, casing for the doorways and windows, butcher block countertops for a one-of-a-kind table with matching benches, and stunning red oak S4S lumber for custom shelving.
